Q: Favourite Edmonton & area Community and why?
I really prefer the outlying communities the best (Fort Saskatchewan, Sherwood Park, Beaumont, Leduc, St. Albert, etc.). I am from the east coast and the smaller communities have a smaller, friendlier down home feel to them.
For Edmonton, I don’t really have a favorite community but I love the more established neighbourhoods with larger trees, larger yards and homes that aren’t “cookie cutter”.
Q: Favourite local restaurant?
The Downtown Diner in Fort Saskatchewan is to die for. If you haven’t had the pleasure of eating there, it is worth the trip and I can promise you, no matter what you order off of the menu, you will not be disappointed.
Q: What do you enjoy most about your job?
Truly hands down the people. I have been fortunate to work with some pretty amazing people both on the selling and buying side and I have developed some incredible friendships along the way. Some of my past client have had some bumpier roads which had led to some stressful moments and I found that sometimes just being there to offer an ear, a shoulder and some solid advice is all that they need to get them through to the end. I just love making that call and saying you are SOLD or meet them to give them their keys to their new home.
Q: What is your dream vacation?
Hawaii. I have wanted to go there since I was a child and just haven’t made it there. We keep are hoping to go in 2018, so we shall see if my dream vacation comes true soon!
Q: What is your charity of choice?
This is an easy answer and also a hard one for me to answer as there are a variety of things that I believe in and would like to see more supports for.
First off, I was a teen mother and trying to raise children and get your education was a struggle and so I would love to see more supports be set up for teens that want to further themselves so that they too can be successful in life and accomplish their dreams. Locally there is the Terra Centre and the Breamar School which helps teens mothers that want to finish their high school.
Second, I can also get behind the Military Family Resource Centre (MFRC) as my husband actively served in the Canadian Forces and this non-profit organization is there to assist families when the serving members is away. They offer a wide variety of programs and events that without donations would not be possible and I can tell you when your spouse is away serving and you aren’t sure if they will come home, it was a huge relief to have a coffee or a meal with other families that were going through the same thing.
Lastly, the homeless. I was a Property Manager at Homeward Trust, the local organization that is trying to end homelessness, for two years. While working there, it was reaffirmed that way to often in this society, the homeless are just forgotten. I have helped serve meals, handed out toques and mittens on cold winter days and leant an ear more than a few times to someone that was homeless or was on the verge of homelessness and what I had found during this was that the people that you ran into were extremely grateful for not just your assistance but for the fact that you recognized them as a person. At this point, I am not sure which organization I would support the most in regards to this but basically anyone or any charity that is helping, I would proudly support.
Q: Tell us about a random act of kindness you have recently done.
There a few things, like I paid for the Timmies order for the car behind me (I try to do this at least once a week) and the other day I was doing a showing and an elderly man was struggling to get his wheelchair bound wife up the walkway and so I went over to offer some assistance.

Marcie was amazing and we will definitely use her again. We had our condo on the market for 6 months and our previous agent told us to lower the price. She came in, redid the ad and photos and before we knew it we sold. She went above and beyond what we expected.

Marcie helped my family and I sell our condo and find our home. She made us feel like her only clients (we defiantly were not the only ones at the time) she took our ever evolving wants/needs into account before every outing, She listened to what we saying about different details in each home we visited and interpreted what we wanted! If we ever move again we will be contacting Marcie for sure. Marcie treats you like part of her family, and she wants what’s best for her family!

I hated realtors...and then I was introduced to Marcie. Firstly, she’s the most down to earth, kind and funny person ever. When we had our first meeting she was honest and not once did we feel like she was trying to sell our home for commissions... she was truly trying to get us out of our condo and into our dream home. When our condo wasn’t selling as quickly as we’d hoped, she came over and took professional pictures for us at no charge. Did I mention I bought the for sale by owner package? So even though she technically already had her "commissions," she still worked so hard to get us sold. Now when we finally sold and bought our dream home (after we almost lost it) she helped us get in despite all our set backs with banks and lawyers taking their time for key release. All this to say that Marcie made this impossible journey not only possible, but got us into our DREAM home. Anyone wanting to sell/buy a home, you couldn’t find anyone better. I’m so thankful for her. THANK YOU MARCIE!!!
